Gamescom 2022: Opening Night Live Top 10 Trailers

The annual Gamescom comes back this 2022 in full force in Cologne, Germany. This trade fair kicks off with Opening Night Live, a streaming event hosted by Geoff Keighley. During this, the audience is treated with about 2 hours of announcements, updates, and trailers. When we say a lot, we mean it. You can watch the whole show below.

But here are 10 trailers that got us extremely giddy and excited.

Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 is indeed still alive. During the event, we see not only one but two trailers! The first trailer introduces us to Jacob who is just one out of 6 playable characters in the game. The second trailer shows off some of the ingenious ways you can kill zombies in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy

Despite the delays, Hogwarts Legacy is proving that the wait is going to be worth it! We see again and again (through the trailers) that in this game, you can become the witch or wizard you want to be. And it seems one of the decisions that you can make is embracing or rejecting the Dark Arts! What could this entail?  We’ll know when it becomes available on February 10, 2023.

Gotham Knights

Good news! Gotham Knights is coming sooner than we think! This is confirmed in the latest trailer shown in the event. From October 25 the release date of Gotham Knights is pushed forward to October 21. We also get to see the infamous villains that our Batman Family needs to confront to keep Gotham safe.

Outlast Trials

Outlast Trials has to be one of the most awaited games due to the popularity of Outlast Trilogy. The latest trailer shows some of the horrifying tortures that the players will have to survive. The closed beta starts on October 28 and ends on November 1, 2022.

Lies of P

Ever since its first trailer, Lies of P has been on our watch list. At long last, we see more of it today with the gameplay trailer which shows traversal, item collection, enemy encounters, as well as familiar characters. This Soulslike game releases sometime in 2023.

Dune: Awakening

Dune by Frank Herbert is getting a lot of attention lately and we’re here for it! Dune: Awakening is an open-world survival MMO. Our only question is what will it look like? Hopefully, we’ll get a gameplay sampler soon.

Sonic Frontiers

One look at the recent trailer of Sonic Frontiers and nobody can deny the glow-up of the characters and the gameplay. Plus it seems the story will also receive the same improved treatment. The trailer surely makes us ask: What did Sonic do this time? Sonic Frontiers releases on November 8, 2022.

Moon breaker

Moon Breaker steals the show with its unique visuals and gameplay. It’s a digital miniatures game. It draws inspiration from tabletop games. But the most interesting part of this game is that you can paint your characters just like how you would with Warhammer and similar figurines! Moon Breaker comes out on September 29, 2022

High on life

High on life might look like your average first-person shooter but the weapons are very different. The weapons talk! No kidding. The weapons in this game are very talkative and they seem to give hints as well as insults. The enemy in the trailer is also equally a chatterbox so there might be no downtime moments in this game. High on life arrives on October 25, 2022

Where winds meet

is easily one of the eye-catchers during the event. It seems that it will offer a fresh take on the RPG Action elements that we’re all too familiar with. It could be a great love letter to the Wuxia just as much as Ghost of Tsushima is to Samurai.
