Nintendo Direct September 2022 - Big Announcements

A brand new Nintendo Direct arrived last September 13, 2022, and it certainly did not disappoint! There were a sheer amount of title reveals, all new titles, and updates. Here are the big announcements from the event.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA TEARS OF THE KINGDOM

After a very long wait, the sequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a new trailer with exciting information like its title, official release date, and some gameplay. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In the trailer, we see some ways to traverse the devastated Hyrule. Aside from walking or sprinting, you can climb through vines or walls, use moving platforms, and glide through the skies. Another important to note from the trailer is the glyphs. What do they mean?

We will have plenty of time to speculate and make our own theories because The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023.

 

KIRBY’S RETURN TO DREAMLAND DELUXE

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a remake of its 2011 Wii version. It is updated to the current console and comes with updated features like a new Mecha copy ability, a collection of mini-games including Samurai Kirby and Magolor's Tome Trackers, and up to 4-player multiplayer where all participants can play as Kirby with different copy abilities.

Release Date: February 24, 2023

 

PIKMIN 4

Pikmin plans to continuously invade our hearts with the 4th installment on the way! While there’s not much information for the game, we know that it is coming in 2023.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2

Octopath Traveler 2 is a new entry to the Octopath Traveler series. It features the same lovely 2D-HD art style but with some gameplay improvements. Eight new travelers embark on a journey – each has their story to tell but their stories can intertwine. Their path action differs during day and night.  

Release Date: February 24, 2023

IT TAKES TWO

It Takes Two is a critically-acclaimed co-op adventure game. Due to the nature of its gameplay, it totally makes sense that it should be experienced on Nintendo Switch as well.

Release Date: November 4, 2023

SIFU

Coming out from its PlayStation exclusivity, Sifu punches its way to Nintendo Switch. It will bring intense hand-to-hand combat, interactive environments, and more.

Release Date: November 8, 2023

 

FIRE EMBLEM ENGAGE

Fire Emblem Engage is the next main entry to the Fire Emblem series. It is a grid-based tactics game. It takes 1,000 years after the four kingdoms have defeated the Fell Dragon. However, the seal holding it back is becoming weaker. In this game, you’ll play as the Divine Dragon called Alear who must collect Emblem Rings to bring peace back to the continent. You cannot do it alone. So aside from other party members you may encounter in your journey, you can also summon previous Fire Emblem characters like Marth and Sigurd.

Release Date: January 20, 2023

 

RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE CLOUD

Get ready to be chased by a 6-foot-tall lady now on a portable device. In Resident Evil Village Cloud, you’ll experience the latest Resident Evil Story, meet the famous Lady Dimitrescu, and suffer from deadly encounters. Later this year, the cloud version of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 will also be available.

Release Date: October 28, 2022

 

CRISIS CORE FINAL FANTASY VII REUNION

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a reimaged HD remake of the FFVII prequel spin-off. It tells the story of Zack Fair as he, Angeal, Sephiroth, and Genesis investigates a mysterious case of missing Soldier Operatives.

Release Date: December 13, 2022

 

ATELIER RYZA 3: ALCHEMIST OF THE END & THE SECRET KEY

Atelier Ryza (thicker than ever-ahem) and friends investigate the mysterious island that appeared in nearby waters. For the final time, they must embark on an adventure surrounding the roots of alchemy.

Release Date: February 2023
