Spidey is lookin’ fresh

Sony announced that Marvel’s Spiderman: Remastered will be included exclusively in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 5.

Along with it, are updates to take advantage of the upcoming console’s next-generation technologies. From environment to characters, expect all of these to be more detailed and almost true to life. Amongst the updates in graphics are ray-traced reflections, ambient shadow, and improved textures. Not only that, players can experience and see SpiderMan in its full glory at 60 frames per second during the Performance Mode. Ohh potential screensavers, anyone?

It was also revealed that it will have support for 3D audio capabilities and DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. Although, there were no further details on how these will work.

But one of the most discussed changes was Peter Parker’s face. Yep, he is lookin’ fresh. In fact, unbelievably too fresh for someone who is supposed to be in their mid-twenties and has 8 years experience in donning the mask.

Developer Insomniac Games said the original model was recast to match Yuri Lowenthal’s voice over and facial capture. It weirded out a lot of fans as he almost resembles the ever-lovable Tom Holland who portrays Spiderman in the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. Coincidence? Probably.

Here is a clip so you can stare at Peter’s face and decide for yourself whether you love or hate this change:
