The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Gameplay Demo Breakdown

Get ready to grab your shield and sword because The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is on its way.

In the recent gameplay demonstration presented by the series producer, Eiji Aonuma, we got a sneak peek at some of Link’s new abilities that’ll help in traversal and combat.

First off, we already know that the land of Hyrule is large! And you are free to explore all of it, from the highest peaks to the deepest valleys. But in this new entry to the series, there are islands floating in the skies. If you want to reach these sky islands, you’ll have to think of ingenious ways to get there. One of the many ways is using the Recall ability which lets you rewind objects. This allows you to manipulate falling rocks from the sky islands to reach them. And once you're up there, you can use your paraglider to hop from one island to another.

And if you thought that was cool, get ready for the Ultrahand ability. This one lets you attach and detach objects to create your own means of transportation. Whether it's a simple raft to cross a body of water or a complex boat that showcases your creativity while taking you from point A to point B, the sky's the limit with this incredible feature.

Wait, there's more! One of the coolest new abilities in the game is the ability to Ascend through ceilings. That’s right, it's not a glitch, it's a feature that’ll let you explore areas without having to worry about your stamina running out from all that climbing.

But what's a hero without their trusty weapon, right? That's where the Fuse ability comes in. This one is an absolute game-changer. You can create weapons with various effects using different materials found in the environment. Want equipment with a longer attack range? No problem. How about ammos with elemental effects and damage? You got it. The best part? You can customize your weapons however you like! That's right, you can channel your inner blacksmith and create the perfect weapon to fit your playstyle.

However, the Link is not the only one running around with Fused weapons. Some enemies come equipped with their own variety of armory which means the battle will play out differently with each enemy type. You'll need to be careful. But let's be honest, we're all up for a challenge, right?

In conclusion, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom looks like it's shaping up to be an epic adventure, with new abilities that will make your gameplay experience even more exciting. So get ready to explore, create, and battle your way to greatness! It will arrive on May 5, 2023. You may pre-order it here
