It’s the heart's month again. And you know what that means, it’s time for single people to feel alone even more. Just kidding. Whether you have a significant other or you are single, certain video games will make you feel...things. Here are some of our favorite iconic couples in video games.
Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher (Uncharted Series)
If there are any #relationshipgoals couple out there, it must be Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher of the Uncharted series. On one hand, we have Nathan the ever pompous, excitement-loving treasure hunter. On another, we have Elena: the fierce and independent journalist. Together, they went on adventures, and most often than not, they ended up in messy situations. At one point, they separated but ultimately got back together as they both realize that their one true treasure is one another. Isn’t that sweet?
Ellie and Riley (Last of Us)
We know from the Last of Us campaign that Ellie and her dear friend Riley were bitten at the same time but she’s the only one who survived. We see how the events unfolded between the two in the Left Behind DLC. When Riley came back after her disappearance, Ellie was understandably upset. However, during their excursion to the mall, they bridged their gap and even got closer than before. But alas, their trip predictably went southwards. Their romance was short-lived but it’s succinct and beautiful.
Well, at least Ellie found Dina in Last of Us 2--oh wait.
Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong (Resident Evil Series)
There are plenty of pairings that you can think of when it comes to Resident Evil. None of them are ever proved or disproved through so your limit is your imagination, ha! Among the well-known pairings, Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong stand out the most. Throughout the series, Leon and Ada somehow ALWAYS cross paths. They also tend to save each other whether or not their encounter is out of pure coincidence or not. Maybe it’s just fate? Who knows.
Noctis and Lunafreya (Final Fantasy XV)
If you are a fan of the childhood friend romance trope, then this pairing is for you. Their love story is more on the background due to circumstances though--cough bromance cough--. They are both selfless and endearing. Even if they weren’t able to wed each other during their stay in the mortal world, they finally were able to live happily ever after in the afterlife.
Whoever you are or whatever your preference is, we can't deny that we all love a good (sometimes tragic) Love Story. These are only some of the greatest iconic couples in video games in recent years. Which ones are your favorite?
I like playing but watching other people play gives me more joy. IDK why. And what do you know, I watch random YT videos ranging from educational to completely out of this world shtposts whenever I'm bored! I guess I live to watch?
