Now confirmed! The most influential Resident Evil entry in the series is being remade. During the State of Play June 2022, we saw some of the action and refreshed graphics that awaits us in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Along with the teaser is the tentative release date: March 24, 2022. Sadly, the game will be released on PS5 only.
“This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics, and updating the controls to a modern standard.” This was mentioned in the PlayStation blog update. Does this mean that there are contents that will be cut just like in Resident Evil 3? That’s a scary thought. Hopefully this time, the changes are not so glaring and only improve the continuity of the series.
A PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) content for the game is also in the works.
Speaking of PSVR2…More games are being developed for the platform even before its release! Confirmed titles include Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners: Retribution Ch2, No Man’s Sky, and Horizon Call of the Mountain (previously announced).
In other news, Guerilla Games surprised us with the Horizon Forbidden West major update. The new features that the player will enjoy are New Game+ with new weapons and trophies involved, Performance Mode, Ultra Hard Difficulty for those who want to challenge themselves, Reset skills so players can redistribute skill points, and Transmog.
Another PlayStation first-party heavy-hitter will be ported to PC. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is coming to PC on August 12, 2022.

Ready for the spiritual successor of Dead Space? The Calisto Protocol showed a glimpse of the creepy and deadly otherworldly beings in their teaser. The game will be released on December 2, 2022.
Street Fighter comes back in style! The latest trailer of Street Fighter VI showed off 4 characters, newly designed with their artsy and colorful finishers.
Square Enix showed off a gameplay trailer for the upcoming role-playing game – Final Fantasy XVI. Some of the giant creatures in the teaser include Odin, Bahamut, and Ifrit. No exact release date yet but it is currently slated for sometime in the summer of 2023.
