Summer Game Fest 2025: 20 Biggest Announcements

Summer Game Fest 2025 just as expected, it delivered a thrilling two-hour show packed with world premieres, juicy updates, and a few fun surprises. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, this year’s event was a smorgasbord of trailers, teases, and first looks at some of the most anticipated titles coming to consoles and PC. 

In case you missed it, we’ve rounded up 20 of the biggest and buzziest announcements that had everyone talking. Let’s take a look at what stole the spotlight during Summer Game Fest 2025!

1. Resident Evil: Requiem

The ninth installment in the Resident Evil series introduces Grace Ashcroft, who is sent to investigate a hotel where her mother was once murdered. Launches on February 27, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

 

2. Stranger than Heaven

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios revealed that Project Century is officially titled Stranger than Heaven. Set in 1943, the trailer features vintage visuals and a period-appropriate soundtrack. No release date or platforms have been announced yet.

 

3. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Onimusha returns with Way of the Sword, showcasing fast-paced slashing combat with Miyamoto Musashi. The trailer also revealed his rival, Sasaki. Expected to release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC

 

4. Mortal Shell II

The show opened with Mortal Shell II, a grim and gory sequel that builds on its soulslike roots. Expect brutal combat, terrifying enemy designs, and more when it hits PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2026.

 

5. Mafia: The Old Country

The new trailer for Mafia: The Old Country, titled “Loyalty is Everything,” follows Enzo Favara as he fights to earn his place in the ruthless 1900s Sicilian underworld. Launches August 8, 2025 for PlayStation 5.

 

6. Dying Light: The Beast

This Dying Light spinoff brings players back into the shoes of Kyle Crane, returning after his absence in the 2022 sequel. Set to launch on August 22, 2025 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

 

7. Mindseye x Hitman

A new trailer revealed more cinematic cutscenes for Mindseye, but the real twist came at the end with a silent cameo from Agent 47 himself. Mindseye arrives on June 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The crossover event featuring Hitman will launch later this summer.

 

8. Code Vein II

Bandai Namco offered a first look at Code Vein II, the sequel to the 2019 anime-soulslike hit. The trailer showcased its signature art style and cinematic flair. Launching in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

 

9. Ill

Visceral, gory, and shrouded in mystery, Ill gave us a chilling trailer filled with grotesque monsters and a sinister research facility. Launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC — release date TBD.

 

 

 

 

10. Atomic Heart II and The Cube

Mundfish announced Atomic Heart II, a full sequel to the original, along with a brand-new multiplayer experience called The Cube. Both titles continue the alternate-history narrative of the first game. Atomic Heart II will feature an expanded combat system, deeper RPG mechanics, and more emphasis on player choice. The Cube is a standalone MMO spin-off set years after the events of the main story. Both are currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S — release dates have not yet been announced.

 

11. Game of Thrones: War for Westeros

First announced at SGF 2025, this officially licensed real-time strategy game is developed by PlaySide Studios. It lets players rewrite the history of Westeros by controlling major factions from the show—including the Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, and even the White Walkers, led by the Night King. Each faction has unique heroes and units, such as the iconic Targaryen dragons. No release date has been announced for the PC version.

 

12. Dune Awakening

The launch trailer for this sandbox survival game set in the world of Arrakis gave Dune fans a new look at what to expect when the game drops on June 10. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

 

13. Lies of P: Overture

A new trailer for this downloadable expansion showed off new gameplay and abilities. The expansion is available now.

 

14. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The latest trailer for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers showcased fresh gameplay and fearsome enemies. This action-RPG launches on July 24 for PlayStation 5.

 

15. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Story Cut

A new clip featured a dialogue between Neil (Luca Marinelli) and Lucy (Alissa Jung), both confirmed to play major roles in the sequel's story. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach launches on PS5 on June 26, 2025.

 

16. Arc Raiders

Embark Studios has confirmed that Arc Raiders will officially launch on October 30. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

 

17. Scott Pilgrim EX

A new pixelated brawler starring Scott and his friends. The title comes from Tribute Games, the retro-inspired studio formed by members of the original Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game team, along with comic creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, who helped craft a brand-new story. The beloved chiptune band Anamanaguchi also returns to compose the soundtrack. Scott Pilgrim EX is set to launch in 2026 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation platforms, Windows PC, and Xbox platforms.

 

18. Mouse: P.I. For Hire

Troy Baker steps into the role of Private Investigator Jack Pepper in this noir-inspired cartoon mystery adventure. Mouse: P.I. For Hire is coming in 2025 to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

 

19. Wildgate

This spacefaring PvPvE multiplayer action game from Moonshot Games debuted a new trailer showing off its blend of exploration and ship-to-ship combat. An open beta begins June 9 and runs through June 16. The full game launches in July 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

 

20. Hitman World of Assassination: The Banker

The latest Elusive Target in Hitman World of Assassination is Le Chiffre—the iconic poker-playing villain from 2006’s Casino Royale. Even better, Mads Mikkelsen reprises his role for this special in-game mission, which is available now.
